Hey everyone.
I am a converted theist and by religion I am Muslim. Previously I was agnostic and was open to the idea of the existence of God. This was a phase that I've often gone through and I was trying to find reasons to believe in God and His existence as well. There's another blog on my agnostic phases and if you are interested, let me know and I will paste the link here.
Anyhow, this blog is not about me. The reason that I came up with this blog was that being a converted theist, I know the reason(s) because of which theists believe in God and life-after death now. I am coming up with an article/blog which will be extensive and would give a neutral point of view on why I chose to become a theist. The purpose of this article/blog is not to impose my beliefs or faith upon you at all. On the contrary, I would like to learn from you, and know why it is that you believe that God or gods do not exist. Being a law student , I guess that it is in my nature to want to get both sides of the story before I conclude and come up with a decision.
The decision that I am referring to here is not about my doubt in God, being a theist I obviously do believe in Him now. I would like to come up with an article which would give a neutral view on the how and why I believe He exists. My purpose is not to impose faith upon you; not is it to target you or be hostile towards you because I do not believe in hostility. Rather, it is to educate myself and come up with answers to your questions and hopefully learn from your answers as well. I would eventually like to write a book on this as well and generally I have seen that those who write books (atheists and theists included) in an attempt to prove a point, they do not provide the reader with both sides of the story.
I am not like that. I want your views (atheists) and am keen to know why and how it is that you came to become an atheist and finally if you do not believe in God and life after death or in religion, what is it that you believe?
Please do not be hostile or crude in your views by swearing at God or religion or by giving an extremist point of view and I assure you I won't do the same. If you are interested to know how I came to believe in God I have a blog where I have posted my own experience.
Thank you.
Looking forward to your replies and if you wish to send me an email for the sake of privacy, let me know and I will give it to you.
